Hi Scrapers! I appreciate you stopping by! Today I’m here sharing with you the layout I’ve created for the Scrap Our Stash Design Team. It’s taken from the September Tic Tac Toe Board which I found to be very inspirational this month.
Seeing the board I immediately knew what photo I wanted to use and the product collection that would be perfect for it. It made the pre-planning part of this page very easy.
So I chose to use the bottom row: Arrow, Wood Grain Paper, Circle…
This collection from Close To My Heart is perfect for school pictures. And the colors just so happened to go so nicely with the blues and greens in my daughter’s First Day of School picture. As of this month we have a new Annual Inspirations Catalog. These exact elements are from the older Enchantment collection. In the new collection the papers are slightly different. Patterns are slightly different but colors and theme are the same. I will link it up below in case you are interested!
Here’s a sketch i’ve created based on the page. I hope you find it useful! Please share it if you do! Sketch1
Thanks for stopping by!!
I always love hearing your feedback 🙂
Hi Scrappers! I hope you are having a good week! Today i’m sharing another layout from the Scrap Our Stash design team. It’s for August’s Tic Tac Toe Board.
For my project today I chose the middle row. The COlor Blue, Polaroid and Hexagon Shape.
I chose to use a Navy and Cyan blue, a chipboard Polaroid frame and Hexagon shaped wood veneers for touches of subtle detail.
I love, love, love this chevron paper by Shimelle’s Little by Little collection. I love it so much it was hard on me to have to cut it haha! I know i’m not the only one who has a favorite paper they hate to cut up!
The product from today’s page is from May’s Hip Kit Club.
**Stay tuned for the process video. It will be up by the end of the day**
Hope you stop by Scrap Our Stash to play along in the month of August!
Hey guys! I’m here today to share another layout for the Scrap Our Stash design team. This time using a fabulous sketch created by Rochelle Spears.
And to add to the challenge you also have to use one stash item for each letter of the word FIREWORKS.
Here is my interpretation of the challenge sketch….
For this page i used a mix of products from May and June’s Hip Kits.
I kept the same background shape as the sketch but instead of using strips of paper I did a watercolor background using pink, blue and purple paint. I put strips of washi tape over that and added a lot of stamping and rub ons to the background.
The stash items i used:
F – Flowers, Foam
I – Ink
R – Ranger
E – Ephemera, Enamel Dots
W – Washi Tape, Water Colors, Wood Veneers
O – Ombre
R – Rub-Ons
K – Kaiser Crafts
S – Stamps, Stitching, Stripes, Swirl
I hope you stop by and play along with us!
I’m so excited to share my first layout for the Scrap Our Stash design team! This challenge was so much fun! The tic tac toe board had a lot of items that I work with frequently so that made it fairly easy for me. You can find the challenge > here
I chose to work with the middle row – Chipboard, Stars and Stamping. That trio is one of my favorites. You’ll see those items a lot on my pages.
I used May’s kit from Hip Kit Club. I LOVE these kits! The colors in the kits are so bright, happy and fun! They put you in a good mood just looking at them.
I am in LOVE with this backround paper. It has given me so many ideas on how to recreate it with my computer and washi tape! It’s so fun and creative!
My girls and I love playing around with Snapchat filters. We will sit and laugh for hours. That’s the inspiration behind this page. My girls and I taking time to just be silly.
For the challenge I used Chipboard hearts, rub-on blue stars and detail stamping in black ink.
I hope you stop by the Scrap Our Stash blog to play along with us. I would love to see what you come up with! And you may even win a sponsor prize!

So this week at my online Facebook party I wanted to show everyone how easy it is to recreate a page from our Seasonal Expressions idea book.
This page uses the Workshops Your Way ‘Dreamin Big’ scrapbooking kit. During the week I will show how I created 4 layouts and a pocket page using the kit from the ideas in the book. These are not the same instructional layouts that come with the kit. Today I’ll be sharing with you layout #1 along with its process video. If you’d like to come stop by and check out what we have going on at the party we’d love to have you! It runs until March 26th…. Online Scrapbook Party

So I don’t know about you but I struggle with taking a good picture of my layouts. Getting the right lighting, the right angle, the entire page in perfect focus. I honestly dread time for pictures.
My husband came home the other day with this brilliant idea for a DIY light box. I’ve seen it done on some Pinterest posts before. And it’s so easy!
First I started with a box that I had lying around in the garage. I cut the flaps off. Then cut square holes into 3 of the sides. 1 side and the bottom remain intact.
Once you do that, you need some kind of white material that is semi transparent. I’ve seen some use tissue paper. I had a banquet roll of plastic white tablecloth so that’s what I used. You have to tape it over the 3 holes you cut.
After that you’re almost done!
Now you need that big white poster board type paper you can buy at Wal-Mart or the Dollar Tree. Ya know the kind kids do school projects on. Not the cardboard stuff. The big heavy-duty piece of paper.
Cut that to the width of your box and tape it inside so it lays inside and runs out with a very subtle crease (In case you want to take pictures of other things beside your layouts. You don’t want to see the crease in the picture).
You can either just rest the layout against the back of the box. It stays pretty good. Or do what I did and use a small piece of tape from a tape runner and put it on the top back corners just to keep it secure.
Once you do that and you’re ready to take a picture you have 2 options. For an inside picture, you would need 2 portable bright lights/lamps you can place on either side to give you lots of light. Or take it outside and place it on its back (layout laying on the ground) in the direct sun. The box will diffuse the light for your picture.
It’s that easy! Make sure your camera is taking the picture with a high aperture for an incredible in focus picture.
